A study of pulmonary and cardiovascular complications in eclampsia

Background: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy affect about 10% all pregnant women around the world. Eclampsia is an important predictor organ dysfunctions and mortality. This study looks into pulmonary cardiovascular complications occurring in eclampsia.Methods: The prospective observational included 90 cases admitted to labor room with a diagnosis eclampsia (antepartum, intrapartum postpartum eclampsia). In patients, single dose MgSO4 regimen was used. Obstetric management termination done accordingly. All maternal puerperal associated morbidity mortality were recorded analyzed.Results: Incidence 0.05%. 66.7% primigravidae. mean gestational age presentation 34 weeks. Among (n=90), 85.6% patients presented antenatal period. Intrapartum presentations 2.2% 6.7%. Pulmonary accounted 13.3% 6.6% had (out which 3.3% cardiomyopathy 1.1% cardiac arrhythmia). Maternal reported 0.05% our study.Conclusion: common among rural low socio-economic group this study. There need educate regarding for regular check-ups.
